Forest Bathing at Falconhurst
An opportunity to experience forest bathing in the beautiful grounds of Falconhurst Estate.
Kirsty Mauritz, a qualified Forest Bathing+ Guide, will lead you through a unique combination of techniques to calm the nervous system whilst maximising the therapeutic benefits of being among the trees. A slow-paced walk of only 1-2 km through different areas of the estate, engaging in research-led, intentional activities to engage the senses. This is a gentle and accessible activity that can help people feel calm, alert and connected to nature.
What is Forest Bathing?
Forest Bathing, or Shinrin-yoku, was established in Japan in the 1980s as a response to high-stress urban lifestyles. Today, it is recognised globally as a clinical health intervention supported by a robust body of evidence showing it can reduce cortisol (stress hormone) levels, stabilise blood pressure and enhance Natural Killer (NK) cell activity, which bolsters immunity. You will learn more about the history and science of Forest Bathing during the session… as well as experience the benefits for yourself!
